landing lights 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Has anyone any advice on aiming landing lights. I have 4 x 100 watt GE Quartz lenses to install in the leading edge, (2 per wing) as supplied. Maybe 1 for taxi 3 for landing???? Parallel to the wing or ?????? Any ideas as how to space them out to aim them?

Hello gents,

On the subject of landing lights, anyone using the Knutzleman L.E.D. 3" x 1" puck light? How are you mounting it in the wing? My PA-18 wing has two holes for two lights. Are you mounting the L.E.D. in one of those holes or creating a new mount for the L.E.D.?

Thanks,
Paul

I'm using the AR111-CW9W from www.superbrightleds.com. They are the same size as the original GE bulb and fit in the same brackets. About $30 plus shipping.

Colin, I would use 2 for landing and 2 for taxi. Then use them all on while landing. Four lights will light up the whole neighborhood. Angle the outboards towards the nose a little and aim them out in front to a spot that gives you the best vision while taxing.
